How to Fix Roblox Lag: Lower Ping and Stop Stuttering

#roblox#lag#ping#troubleshooting

Why Is Roblox So Laggy?

Roblox lag has three usual suspects: high ping to the game server, an unstable Wi-Fi connection, or a device that cannot keep up. The good news is that most Roblox lag is fixable in a few minutes.

What Counts as Good Roblox Ping?

  • Under 60ms: Smooth for nearly every Roblox experience.
  • 60-120ms: Fine for casual games, noticeable in fast-paced ones.
  • Over 120ms: Expect delay, teleporting characters, and slow loading.

Check Your Connection First

Open Roblox's in-game stats (the performance overlay) to see ping, then confirm your line with an independent ping and speed test. If your test ping is high too, the fix is your network — not Roblox.

Step-by-Step Fixes

  1. Switch to Ethernet or move closer to the router — see Wi-Fi vs Ethernet.
  2. Close other tabs and apps; Roblox in a browser competes with everything else.
  3. Lower the in-game graphics quality so device lag is not mistaken for network lag.
  4. Restart your router if ping is high across all games — see what causes high ping.

Lag vs Ping

If your ping is low but the game still stutters, the bottleneck is your device or graphics settings, not your internet. Test first so you fix the right thing.
